What is 206ONE?

A continuation of a childhood dream to create things, connect with people, document good times, hijinxs, graffiti, skateboarding, and having fun. Or in simpler terms, we're a skateboard company.

What does 206ONE mean?

One team, same dream. 206ONE gets its name from the i-35 exit "206" to Aquarena Springs-Texas State in San Marcos, Texas. And the "ONE" stands for one team, one community, or one individual with dreams or ambitions. Also stands for "ONE" San Marcos, Texas.

Why 206ONE? On a more deeper note...

206ONE draws its name and spirit from Stephen Michael Young — “Lil Steve” — a passionate skateboarder, artist, Texas State alum, and proud San Marcos native. One of seven brothers, Steve discovered skateboarding early, and it became his compass through life’s ups and downs.

As an uncle, Steve welcomed his nephew Kenley into that same world. When Kenley turned seven, Steve gave him his first skateboard, sparking a passion that would shape his life. Kenley saw Steve not just as family, but as a mentor and role model. Their connection deepened when both became Texas State graduates, sharing roots in San Marcos and a love for skateboarding.

In spring 2021, Steve’s journey ended far too soon. Before his passing, he had been developing Project 206-1 — a community initiative to help people in the Hill Country (Austin–San Marcos–San Antonio) find work and gain transportation through bicycles and skateboards. It reflected his belief in skateboarding as both freedom and opportunity.

In fall 2023, Kenley founded 206ONE to honor Steve’s memory and fulfill their shared dream: traveling the world through skateboarding, connecting with people, and not taking life too seriously.

Today, 206ONE is more than a brand — it’s a movement that celebrates community, creativity, and skateboarding.

 Lil Steve

Kenley and Steve both embrace a philosophy of unity and collaboration in skateboarding. Their shared belief that “we’re all ONE team, with the same dream” highlights a communal approach to the sport. This means they see all skateboarders as part of a single community working together towards common goals, such as advancing their skills, promoting the sport, and supporting each other. Their ideology emphasizes that success in skateboarding isn’t just about individual achievements but also about the collective progress and camaraderie of the entire skateboarding community.
